Independence Day is one of my all time favorite holidays (and a pretty entertaining movie as well!), but I always struggle finding the perfect nail art design for the occasion. I don’t typically love to be too literal with my holiday nail art designs so I spend a lot of time every year coming up with something appropriate without being too expected. I’ve rounded up four of my 4th of July nail art designs, past and present. Read on to see the designs and get tips on how to achieve a similar look.
This look is achieved by placing star-shaped glitter on top of white base coat. Super easy with maximum impact!
Studs, Stripes, & Dots
Use a striping brush to carefully apply the lines. A dotting tool is perfect for the polka dots, of course! Lastly, carefully apply small metal studs with tweezers to accent!
Mixed Prints + Studs
Use a short detail brush to carefully paint the five connected lines to make a star, then fill in any holes. I used a missing stamping plate for the design on my index finger so unfortunately I cannot share the plate number.
Star Spangled Nails
Apply a star-shaped sticker over dried striped nail before painting a coat of blue polish. Use tweezers to carefully remove the sticker to reveal striped squares. To get the compact placement of star glitter, try placing each of glitter with tweezers. Forgive the messy cuticles, this is from way back in the archive, in my early days of nail art.
