Hi! I’m Adiel Nuesmeyer. A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mom, and a friend. I’m on a mission to find the positive side of all things, because this Cloud has a rose gold lining. I want that rosy, shiny, and happy in life.
A Little About Me
I was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley of the great state of Utah. I’m the oldest of the four awesome people that my parents brought into this world. Growing up, I was always drawn to creative activities. For example, I would create little dolls and toys out of garbage on the playground, make jewelry out of clay and thread and try to sell them on the street in front my house, tried to organize a neighbor play inspired by my American Girl books (which no one wanted to do with me), and numerous other things. Fashion was always in my mind as something I wanted to be a part of when I grew up. But alas I lived in Utah; not exactly the fashion capital of the world.
In my early twenties, the stars aligned and brought me an opportunity to work in Community Management at the pioneer of social shopping, Kaboodle. So I picked up my life, and left everything I had ever known behind me with just a few hundred dollars to my name. I fell in love with the industry and the opportunity to work with and advocate for people. It really allows me to combine my interest fashion, social media, and all things creative with my passion for people. In 2012 I joined the Community team of the amazing fashion marketplace Poshmark, where I am currently Director of Community over our Ambassador Management team.
The Rose Gold Lining of My Life
The two best things in my life are my husband and daughter.
In 2012, I gave up my maiden name of Cloud and married my childhood sweetheart, Sean. We went to elementary school together and event “went out” in sixth grade, which basically just meant holding hands at recess. We lost touch after his family moved away, but reconnected on Myspace in 2007. Yes, I ‘met’ my husband on Myspace. Thank you, social media!
Naturally, I’m completely obsessed my daughter Avery, one of the biggest blessings I’ve ever received. She joined us in 2014 (read her birth story). She is so brave, smart, strong, challenging, and beautiful all rolled into one. My husband and I are so lucky to have her in our family.
Why did I start Rose Gold Lining
I’ve been blogging for nearly a decade and the space has changed so dramatically. For instance, I had no idea what I was doing when I started my last blog. No one had a tutorial telling me everything I needed to do to have a successful blog (which, by the way, I totally read a few tutorials before starting RGL). I was flying by the seat of my pants with all the other pioneers of the blogging world. And for years, I shared many different pieces of me with the interwebs.
When my daughter was born, the dynamic of my life completely changed. Every corner of my soul and being seemed to evolve. I tried time and again to keep up with It’s Because I Think Too Much, but it became clear that it was my past. I spent a lot of time thinking (because I’m still the girl who thinks too much) about what I did and didn’t like about sharing my life with people on the internet, most whom I’ve never met and I think that’s exactly it. Having a space where I can share my perspective on life, even when I’m inexperienced or far off base, and connect with people I would never meet otherwise energizes me like almost nothing else can.
The name Rose Gold Lining stems from my maiden name, Cloud, and the saying that every cloud has a silver lining. I like to say that my penchant for finding the positive in every scenario makes this Cloud more prone to a rose gold lining.
These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
One of my favorite creative outlets is definitely nail art. I’ve been developing this hobby since 2010 and in 2013, Refinery 29 named me one of the best nail artists out there alongside some majorly talented artists. Couldn’t have been more shocked and grateful for the honor.
I also love the challenge of taking on random DIY projects, from fashion to home decor and everything in between. My husband and I are a really great pair for these sorts of projects; I’ve got the vision and the seedling of an idea and he has the brain and skill to make it happen and done right.
I hope after visiting Rose Gold Lining, you’ll feel inspired to find the positive things in life, too.
