You may know this by now, but I kinda have a thing for negative space nail art. It’s definitely one of my go-to techniques. This time I used a dark gray creme polish called Rossi from a recent Julep Maven box to create a simple, minimalist design.
To get this look, I used a striping brush to carefully paint a pair of thin, angled lines midway across each nail, meeting in a point at in the center. To finish this quick and easy design, I filled in everything beyond the second line. It’s really that simple.
There were a few places where the edges weren’t as straight as I would have liked. To fix that, I dipped a flat brush in acetone and gently swiped it against the edges to clean them up a bit. Once it all looked the way I wanted it to, I sealed it all up with my favorite top coat.
Originally I had tried this design in a mauve pink color, but the contrast wasn’t stark enough against my natural nail color. This charcoal polish worked out much better!
