As soon as you read the word “announcement,” I’m sure your mind jumped right to it. That being said, I won’t make you wait any longer to confirm that our family is growing in size–I’m pregnant!
When we scored tickets to The Color Factory in San Francisco earlier this month, I immediately knew I wanted to take the opportunity to snap some fun photos to announce our news to you! It was a lot of fun to explore and play as we tried to capture some pics. I’ll share more on our experience later so keep an eye out for that post! For now, keep reading for more details and fun pics!
Breaking the News
I’m about 13 weeks along and due in late February. We’ve known for a long time, pretty much immediately, because I haven’t been feeling very well. At all. I think this time around I’m making up for all of the morning sickness I didn’t have with Avery. I wanted to keep it a little bit of a secret and find a cute way to tell Sean, but there was no keeping it a secret from him, unfortunately. Needless to say, that’s why I haven’t been around as much in the last several weeks.
As far as telling our families, luckily the timing worked out to tell them our big news in person. We had to tell our families digitally last time around since we had just returned from Utah when we found out. We bought a cute little big sister t-shirt and had Avery put it on during family gatherings on our 4th of July trip. Each time she wore it, it didn’t take long for people to catch on and it was so fun to see everyone’s reactions.

To address some common questions we’ve been getting from people who know, we do plan to find out the gender in the coming months. We also would be totally happy with either outcome here. We’d be thrilled at having a boy since that’s a new experience for us, but having a girl has already been so fun. Plus we already have so many little girl things! We’re happy to receive whatever is sent our way!
We’re super excited about this next adventure for our family and can’t wait to see Avery become a big sister. We already know she’s going to be the sweetest little caretaker! Can’t wait!
