As a busy pregnant working mom, I had to opt for a little help with this year’s Halloween nail art design. Thankfully, I received a sheet of metallic Halloween nail decals in this month’s Julep Maven box.
I decided to place the decals over a DIY smoky-looking base coat. To achieve the look, I created my own nail decals using a jelly stamper to squish black and white polish together into sheets of smoke on my silicone mat. Once dry, I carefully lifted the thin layer of nail polish and cut out strips to fit each of my nails. I trimmed the edges with cuticle nippers and cleaned up edges as needed with a flat nail brush dipped in acetone. I love this effect because it makes each nail look just a bit different from the next.
