I’ve been dying to do a tropical palm print for a long time, but for a long time, it mostly just turned out looking a little wintery, if you know what I mean. Once I acquired the right tool, a fine detail nail art brush, and spent some time practicing, I think I was able to create something ready for a tropical vacation. The best thing about this design is the imperfections kind of give it a more realistic look.
I’m clearly more than a little addicted to Julep’s Luella as it’s been used in my two most recent designs before this. It also seemed like it would be a little more reminiscent of a vacation with pink rather than a neutral color like white. The leaves are painted on using Essie’s Off Tropic.
For some added personality, I added a hollow isosceles triangle stud to one nail on each hand. This time I opted not to put a top coat over top of the stud so as to not dimish the edgy look. Needless to say, those only stayed on for a few days before popping off. Worth it though!
