Happy 2018, friend! My first nail art design of the new year is here and it couldn’t be more appropriate for the season and celebrating the new year! Since it’s winter, I wanted to do a snowflake design. My past snowflake designs didn’t quite turn out the way I had hoped because I didn’t have a fine enough brush. I was excited to give snowflake nail art another shot now that I finally have a fine nail art brush that I like.
I picked three nails for glitter accents nails and three for snowflake nails. The remaining four nails I left plain. I looked up snow snowflakes to mimic, opting for six point snowflakes to give myself a little space to work on each nail. Each nail has one main snowflake and then either a portion of another snowflake or a small six-point star.
Nail Polish Used
For the base color, I used a rose gold chrome polish called Wilma from Julep. As I mentioned in my last nail art post, I’ve been going through my older bottles of polish and trying to either use or get rid of them. This glitter is, unfortunately, one of the older bottles that is no longer sold, Essie’s On A Silver Platter. I did some investigation and can’t find anything quite the same to recommend. The snowflakes were done in one of my favorite whites, Essie’s Blanc.
How would you do snowflake nail art? What colors would you use? Let me know in the comments!
